In 21st of January 2012, Four Youths that came from different institutions and background gather to manifestate their brilliant ideas about debate proliferation in Malang. They are, Muhammad Nur Rizki Oceano Puritanical from Universitas Brawijaya, Nadyah Zubair from Universitas Negeri Malang, Asdin Herzegovina from Politeknik Negeri Malang and Bambang from Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang.
Under the spirit of friendship, togetherness and similarities in vision to empower the debating skills of all students in Malang , they established the ultimate organization of Malang Debating Union with Mr. M. Nur Rizki Oceano Puritanical as the First President of it.
With all of the limitations that they face at that time, such as the number of member inside, their commitments and also fundings, now MDU have grown as the Biggest and Best student debating organization in East Java. We do lot of activities and program to support the competency and skills of Malang Debaters. Such as Routine Training Akbar (every week-end , twice a month), held up a competition in any level annually, which are Malang High-School Debate Tournaments , known as MASTER, for High Schoolars and Malang Newbies Debate Championship, known as MNDC, for freshmen students in University level. Not to mentions, we also frequently held up so many Fun Activities every week-end and Debate Camp, twice a year, to increase the solidarity and sense of belonging of every beloved member of Malang Debating Union. Until now, Six big institution has joined up in Malang Debating Union, consist of Universitas Brawijaya, Universitas Negeri Malang, Politeknik Negeri Malang, Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang, Universitas Kanjuruhan Malang, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim
